How to Share Deals on Instagram, TikTok, Telegram and WhatsApp
Each app treats links differently, so the same deal needs slightly different handling depending on where you post it. This guide covers the four platforms most deal sharers use.
Features such as clickable links in captions or link stickers depend on your account type, your country and the app version, and they change over time. Check what your own account can do before you plan a post around a feature.
- Links in post captions are normally not clickable. People usually reach a link through your profile's link field or a link feature in stories, if your account has it.
- Say in the post where the link is, for example "link in my profile".
- Keep one profile link and change where it points, or use a short link per deal in stories.
TikTok
- As on Instagram, the reliable place for a link is usually your profile, where available to your account.
- A short, easy-to-read link is also useful in comments and in the video itself, because people can remember it.
Telegram
- Links are clickable in channels, groups and chats, and Telegram usually shows a preview built from the page's preview tags. Deal cards on a2z.deals include these tags, with the title, a description and a picture.
- Channels are the easiest place for one-deal-per-message posts.
- Links are clickable and also show a preview card. Previews can take a moment to appear, and the app may keep an old preview for a link it has seen before, so test with the final link.
- Broadcast lists and communities work well for deal updates, as long as people have asked to receive them.
A message layout that works
Put the information a reader needs in the first lines:
Wireless Headphones $129.00 (-57%) Coupon code: SAVE20 a2z.deals/Xk9pQ2
That is exactly what the Share button in your dashboard produces, in the language of the card. You can edit it before sending. Add your disclosure line, for example "affiliate link, I may earn a commission", as described in our disclosure guide.
Find out which platform works
Open Stats on a link. The Browsers / apps list shows whether clicks came from the Instagram app, the TikTok app, a normal browser and so on, and Countries shows where people are. After a week you will know where your audience actually clicks, which is better than guessing.
Checklist before you post
- The price, coupon and end time are correct today.
- You tested the short link in a private window.
- The card language matches your audience.
- Your disclosure is in the post.
