How to Create an Affiliate Deal Link (Step by Step)

By the a2z.deals team · · 5 min read

A deal link is a short web address that sends people to an offer, with a small card in between that shows the store, the price and when the deal ends. It is different from a plain shortened link because the visitor sees the offer before they leave, and you see what happened afterwards.

This guide walks through making one from start to finish.

Before you start

Step 1: paste the link

Paste the long affiliate URL into the box on the a2z.deals home page or in your dashboard and press Shorten. You get a short link such as a2z.deals/Xk9pQ2 straight away.

Step 2: add the deal details

Open the link and fill in what you know: a clear title, the deal price and the original price, and a coupon code if there is one. The card shows the discount for you. Leave a field empty if you are not sure of it. A missing price is better than a wrong one.

Step 3: set the end time

If the offer ends on a date, enter it. The card then shows a countdown, and after that time the link shows an "ended" page instead of sending people to an offer that no longer exists. Only use an end time that is true. See our guide on running time-limited deals honestly.

Step 4: choose the card language and what happens after the end

Pick the language your audience reads: English, Arabic or Kurdish (Sorani). Arabic and Kurdish switch the card to right-to-left. Then decide what visitors see once the deal has ended: your other live deals, a page you choose, or just the notice.

Step 5: test it like a visitor

Open the short link in a private browser window, and on your phone. Check that the picture, price and title are right, that the coupon copies, and that the button goes to the correct store page. Do this before you share the link anywhere.

Step 6: share it, then read the numbers

Use the Share button to get a ready-made message for WhatsApp or Telegram, and a QR code you can download as SVG or PNG for print or a screen. Scans are counted in your stats as the source QR code. After people start clicking, open Stats to see clicks by day, the apps and browsers they came from, countries, and how many people arrived after the deal ended.
